Dr. Chang pursued her passion for advanced robotics surgery by receiving fellowship training in minimally invasive and robotic thyroid and parathyroid surgery at Yonsei University under the tutelage of Dr. WY Chung and Dr. YW Koh who created world-renowned approaches for robotic thyroidectomy and parathyroidectomy.

Dr. Chang is proficient in the most commonly used robotic thyroidectomy approaches around the world, transaxillary and facelift (retroauricular), which allow the surgeon to remove the thyroid gland via hidden scars through either the armpit or behind the ears.

She was the first surgeon to perform robotic thyroidectomy successfully in the Midwest in 2017, during her time as an Associate Professor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.  The story was published in the prominent newspaper,

Omaha World Herald (September 2017).
